EVI - Empowerment of Victims of gender-based violence through vocational Integration

Goal: Empowerment and enablement through vocational integration for survivors of sexual exploitation

Target Group: People engaged in prostitution who aim for a professional change

Financing: EU CERV Programme - Citizens, Equality, Rights, and Values

Duration: 01/01/2022 - 12/31/2023

the project:

EVI stands for "Empowerment of victims of gender-based violence through vocational integration". The EVI project was initiated to provide women who are engaged in prostitution and affected by violence a realistic chance of vocational integration outside of the commercial sex trade. Through a wide network of business and support partners, working together with social institutions, the project aims to facilitate successful integration into the job market for the affected individuals.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES:

  • Support and protection of the target group to achieve a uniform level of protection across the EU.

  • Creating awareness within the target group about gender equality and their rights as victims of violence. Ensuring that they receive the necessary support and guidance on their path towards a safe working environment.

  • Establishing strong, sustainable networks with partners from the business sector and public institutions. The project organizations see themselves as initiators and facilitators, making it as simple and accessible as possible for the target group to enter new job situations.

  • Creating opportunities for jobs and internships for the target group within the established networks, including supporting the process of workplace integration.

  • Raising awareness among the European public and decision-makers, including offering training for potential employers as well as other stakeholders who support the successful labor market integration of this target group. This includes advocating for international EU standards set by the Istanbul Convention, aiming to create suitable workplaces where gender-based violence and oppression are prevented and combated.
